HTC RE is on YouTube
Good news for all the owners of the HTC RE action camera: streaming will be made easier in a short while. This was announced at the CES 2015 which took place in Las Vegas last week.
This will be made available for HTC RE users via an update for the already available RE app. The app for Android is already available since Friday and one for iOS will be also developed in the first quarter of 2015. This app will allow you to stream live footage from your RE directly to YouTube.
HTC motivated that this will allow uses to faster send their recordings to YouTube by simply connecting the RE camera to their account. Afterwards all they would have to do is send the broadcast link to whomever they want. At first users would have to have live streaming activated on their channel and get verified. After that any recording from the RE cam will go directly to the smartphone and from there to YouTube.
Sharing can be done in two different ways: public and private. Public sharing means that a link to your broadcast will be available on YouTube and anyone who finds it will be able to watch it (besides the people you send it to) and private where only the people who receive the link will be able to tune in.
From the hardware side of things the RE has not received any updates and is the same 16 megapixel camera, able to record 1080p @ 30 fps we already know.
